How do we compare?

Here is a simple breakdown of travel costs so you can see for yourself the savings Micro Tour Bus will provide.
The example below is for a group of 7 traveling for 2 weeks and 3000 miles.

Airline

Flight prices will vary, but let’s say a low average of $250 per leg per person. 10 shows= 11 legs each. 11x7= 77 x 250= $15400. Hotel  for  7, let’s say 2 per room with one single at about $100/day. 4x$100x14 = $5600. Hopefully they will have runners for you for local transportation, otherwise add another $40 a day for car rentals = $560. Account for possible backline rental, if needed plus limited merch sales, due to baggage constraints.

$19250+$5600 =$24,850 +$560(local transportation)+ backline rental – smaller merch sales= $27,850+

Standard Tour Bus

Tour buses are normally about $800 a day, plus mileage, plus driver, plus hotel room for the driver, plus gas (3 miles per gallon), plus overdrives (anything above 8 hours a day). No hotels might be needed unless the band needs showers, etc.  Let’s average that cost at $1500 a day on the low side. A small backline will fit in the bus’ basement storage compartments.

14 days x 1500= $21,000

Renting a passenger  van is the cheapest out of the current options. You can get a 12 passenger e-350 van for $2510 with insurance. At about 12 miles per gallon(pulling a trailer) you will spend about $1000 in gas. There is limited storage available in the van for backline, so towing a trailer is a must, which will bring your cost up another $40 a day, with a total of $560 for the trailer.

 Again, hotel  for  7, 4x$100x14 = $5600

$2510 +$1000+$560+$5600= $9,670

Micro Tour Bus

Micro Tour Bus was created by a traveling musician, who was frustrated by seeing most of the profits flying out the window  in traveling costs. Our price breakdown is straightforward and easy to understand and budget.

$499/day x 14 days= $6986 + $1500 in gas (8 MPG) +$700 ( $50/day for insurance)=$9,186
